Nursery News

Nursery Funding – This time last year we were just applying for the funding with our fingers crossed but thankfully, this year our eligible 3 year olds are enjoying a little ‘state funding’ as we are now a ‘registered provider’. This means we are recognised as providing an educational environment on a par with all state funded nurseries and can receive a monetary grant each month to reimburse you for 2.5 hours per day. If you have any questions about the funding, please don’t hesitate to ask

Quality For All – As discussed in our October Newsletter we completed our ‘Quality For All’ assessment and were awaiting the result of the inspection. You will be very happy to hear that for the third year running we received a ‘Highly Commended’, the highest award that you can be given. Apologies for the delay on this news – in our excitement we immediately posted an update on our facebook page, forgetting that not everyone is obsessed with social networking!!! Sorry

Toys – Thank you so much for all your toy donations over the last couple of months, we have been inundated as everyone has had the same idea and had a clear out before Christmas. As grateful as we are we are now bursting at the seams and so for the mean time we can’t accept anymore.

Hamper – On the subject of Christmas, thank you so much for helping us raise £189.00 on our Christmas Raffle. We were amazed when we did a final count!! We have decided that you were all so supportive that you should be the ones to decide where the money is donated. Please could you let us know your suggestions and together we can pick the best cause.
Menu – We have revised our menu a little by removing any unpopular dishes and adding a few ‘winter warmers’. There are copies
of the new menu available in the ‘Parent Pit Stop’ so please feel free to take one with you.
Sensory Room – We have had quite a delay but our new sensory room is about to get under way! We are planning to turn one of the rooms upstairs into a permanent sensory area. We have already begun purchasing equipment and the room will be carpeted in the next couple of weeks, so hopefully it won’t be too much longer before the children can explore all of their senses and relax in this soothing/calming area.

Toddler Room – With construction in mind, you may have noticed that our Toddler area is looking a little tired and run down at the moment. Please be reassured that the only reason for this is that we are awaiting some major building work which will also begin in the next few weeks. We are removing a wall and repositioning fences and gates to create a much bigger, more open space with new carpet and new equipment. Thank you for your patience, I’m sure you’ll be pleased with the results.

Website – We have recently updated our website and we would love to hear what you think about it. Have a little look and let us know

Text Messages – In conjunction with the new website we now have a new text messaging service that we will use to send out any updates, news and reminders to you. We already have your numbers and so we will automatically subscribe you to this service. If you would prefer not to receive these reminders please let us know. You can change your mind at any time.

Reminder – It’s that time of year when lot’s of bugs and viruses seem to be flying around. Please help us to keep all of the children as healthy as possible by keeping your child at home when they are unwell. We all get coughs, colds and temperatures and it’s unrealistic to ask you to keep them off for minor ailments but for anything more serious please be aware of how easily it will spread in the nursery environment. If you are unsure how long your child should be off nursery please do not hesitate to ask. Thank you for your help

Topics – Our Tiny Turtles/Little Ducklings  are currently creeping around with ‘Mini Beasts’,  Our Busy Bees are ‘Down in the Jungle’ exploring the weird and wonderful animals inside and Our Speckled Frogs and Cheeky Monkeys have taken the colder option and are investigating Winter and Arctic Animals!
